Welcome to the home of Saskatchewan Speed Skating!
Saskatchewan Speed Skating Association is dedicated to creating an environment for the development, promotion and organization of recreational and competitive speed skating.
We are a community of skaters, coaches, volunteers and officials who believe speed skating is an affordable sport that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle.
Our speed skating clubs are located in seven communities: Regina, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Melville, Nipawin and Humboldt. But we are always looking for opportunities to introduce the sport to other communities or establish new clubs where there is interest.
Speed skating encourages individuals to achieve their personal best through full participation. There are no bench-sitters in this sport - just a lot of fun and excitement.
Speed skating also provides an opportunity for athletes of all ages to grow and develop to compete on the national and world stage. World-class speed skaters, such as two-time Olympic gold medalist Catriona LeMay-Doan, silver medalist Justin Warsylewicz, and national team members Lucas and Mykola Makowsky, all grew out of Saskatchewan speed skating clubs. In the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Lucas Makowsky took home a gold medal as part of Canada's Pursuit Team.
So we encourage you to explore our web site, learn more about the sport and contact a speed skating club in your community.

It's time to recruit more members and volunteers!
It's time for clubs to begin focusing on recruiting new members and volunteers. Checkout our Best Practices Inventory in membership recruitment to see some innovative ideas tried by others and share some of your own.
To help fill vacant volunteer positions, the Regina Speed Skating Club has provided some Sample Job Descriptions that your club might consider if your are refining existing job descriptions or create new ones. Potential volunteers always want to know what the job entails before they commit their time and energy.
All this and more can be found under "Outreach" on the Saskatchewan Speed Skating web site.
